USING X-RESTRAINT STRAPS

WARNING
Always use all restraint straps to secure the patient on the cot. An unrestrained patient may fall from the cot.
To attach the restraint strap at the shoulder, thigh, or ankle:
1.
Wrap the restraint strap around the cot frame (Figure A).
2.
Push the restraint strap buckle through the loop (Figure B).
3.
Pull the buckle through the loop to secure the restraint strap to the cot (Figure C).

To attach the restraint strap at the waist:
1.
Wrap the restraint strap around the
cot frame.
2.
Push both buckles through the loop
for the double buckle strap (Figure
D).
3.
Push the buckle and the tongue
through the loop for the tongue and
buckle strap (Figure E).
4.
Pull the buckle through the loop to
secure the restraint strap to the cot.
Note: The restraint strap at the waist
must form an X with the restraint strap
at the shoulder (Figure F).
