a. If the programmed event is GENERIC type (ACTION field), the relays switch back to the normal position, which is defined
using the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu, as soon as the GPI is no longer driven.
b. If the programmed event is PLAYBACK (ACTION field), the relays switch back to the normal position, which is defined using
the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu, at the end of the playback.
c. If the programmed event is FIREMAN 1 or FIREMAN 2 (ACTION field), the relays switch back to the normal position, which
is defined using the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu, when the input "GPI" is no longer driven and the "fireman" event is di-
sactivated.
d. If the programmed event is CONSGPI (ACTION field), the relays switch back to the normal position, which is defined using
the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu, at the end of the announcement (microphone disactivation).
To define the specific relays to be switched, you have to access a dedicated submenu by pressing F1 (see the section DEFI-
NING THE RELAYS ASSOCIATED TO THE EVENT).
FEED RELAY This field is to be used when a CONSGPI type action has been selected in the TYPE field of this present configuration menu.
It is used for defining the "feedback" relay which, when switched, enables the transmission of an announcement from the BM
3604 console indicated in the ACTION field. Feedback relay switching takes place when all the zones (or the groups of zones)
selected on the console are available. Use the + and - keys to select the name of the relay from those previously defined using
the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu. If you choose the NO RELAY option (default selection), no relay is selected.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• To prevent malfunctions, or possible errors in the compilation of the system configuration files, keep in mind the following in-
dications:
a. The relays of the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards used as feedback relays must not be used for other functions.
b. Each feedback relay must be configured with normally open contact (STATUS = OPEN field).
c. All the GPI inputs dedicated to the connection of a certain BM 3604 console (max. 4) must be programmed with the same
feedback relay.
d. It is not possible to set a feedback relay if the GPI input is not assigned to a BM 3604 console.
MESSAGE
This field is to be used when a field PLAYBACK type action is selected in the TYPE field of this present menu, and is used for
choosing the name of the audio file to be played. Use the + and - keys to select the name of the audio signal desired from
those present in the library of audio signals provided with the system, or those created by means of the RECORD, ASSEMBLY
and TONE GENERATOR functions (see the section USING THE "RECORDER" MENU). If you choose the NO MESS. option (de-
fault selection), no audio signal is set.
ALARM
Used for activating or disactivating the generation of an acoustic warning signal (buzzer) when the GPI input is driven. To di-
splay the warning signal, you have to access the alarms menu of the control unit (see the section ALARM STATUS DISPLAY).
Use the + and - keys to select one of the following options.
• YES: driving the GPI input generates a warning signal.
• NO: driving the GPI input does not generate a warning signal (default selection).
IMPORTANT NOTES
• To switch off the acoustic signaller once the warning signal has been activated, you have to access the menu for alarm status
display (see the section ALARM STATUS DISPLAY).
ZONE
Used for selecting the zone for transmission of the audio signal related to the event selected in the ACTION field. Use the + and
- keys to select the name of the zone from those previously defined by means of the OUTPUT PROCESSORS menu. If you
choose the NO ZONE option (default selection), no zone is selected; the ALL ZONES option selects all the zones.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• To prevent malfunctions, or possible errors in the compilation of the system configuration files, it is indispensable to select
only an audio zone in the ZONE field, or a group of zones in the GROUP field, but not both. When the selection of one zo-
ne is made, the option NO GROUPS must always be selected in the GROUP field.
GROUP
Used for selecting the group of zones for transmission of the audio signal related to the event selected in the ACTION field. Use
the + and - to keys select the name of the group of zones from those previously defined by means of the GROUPS menu. If
you choose the NO GROUP option (default selection), no group is selected.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• To prevent malfunctions, or possible errors in the compilation of the system configuration files, it is indispensable to select
only an audio zone in the ZONE field, or a group of zones in the GROUP field, but not both. When the selection of a group
of zones is made, the option NO ZONE must always be selected in the ZONE field.
The first screen only shows the first 4 fields (GPI, NAME, ACTION, RLY) of the first 3 GPI inputs. To display the next field, press →; to display
the previous field, press ←.
