PROGRAMMING THE "ALARM" KEYS
IMPORTANT NOTE
• It is not possible to program the ALARM key of a console if the DISABLE option is selected in the EMERGENCY field of the CONSOLES
menu.
To access the submenu used for programming the ALARM key of each console, move the selection point of any field to be configured and press
F2. The fields described below appear on the control unit display.
SOURCE
Used for choosing the source of the alarm signal to be transmitted (see the section EVENTS CONTROLLED FROM THE
BM 3616 DIGITAL CONSOLES). Use the + and - keys to select the source between:
• MICROPHONE - The source of the alarm signal is the console microphone.
• PLAYBACK -
IMPORTANT NOTE
• It is not possible to use a message recorded locally on the console as an alarm signal.
MESSAGE
When a PLAYBACK alarm source is selected (SOURCE field), use this field to select the name of the audio file to be played.
Using the + and - keys, select the name of the desired audio signal from those present in the library of audio signals pro-
vided with the system, or those created by means of the RECORD, ASSEMBLY and TONE GENERATOR functions (see
the section USING THE "RECORDER" MENU).
PLAY MESS.
When a PLAYBACK alarm source is selected (SOURCE field), use this field to choose whether the alarm signal playback is
to be made only once or continuously. Use the + and - keys to select one of the methods described below.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• If the alarm function is disactivated while a recorded alarm signal is being played, the playback is not immediately inter-
rupted, but continues until the end. In the case of "continuous playback", therefore, the interruption only stops the subse-
quent playbacks.
DESTINATION
Used for selecting the zones or groups of zones in which the alarm signal is transmitted (microphone announcement or re-
corded audio signal). Use the + and - keys to select one of the options described below.
• ALL ZONES:
• GENERAL:
• ZONE/GROUPS: the alarm signal is transmitted to a specific zone or group of zones of the system (not both).
ZONES
When the ZONES/GROUPS option is selected in the DESTINATION field, use this field to select the specific audio zone in
which the alarm signal is to be transmitted.
Use the + and - keys to select the name of the zone from those previously defined using the OUTPUT PROCESSORS me-
nu. If you choose the NO ZONE option (default selection), no zone is selected.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• To prevent errors during the compilation of the system configuration files, it is indispensable to select only an audio zo-
ne in the ZONE field, or a group of zones in the GROUP field, but not both.
When the selection of a zone is carried out, the NO GROUP option must always be selected in the GROUP field.

The source of the signal is an audio signal stored on the hard disk of the control unit (audio file).
the alarm signal is played only once, even if the alarm function is not disactivated after the first play-
back of the signal.

tion is disactivated.
the alarm signal is transmitted to all the audio zones of the system.
the alarm signal is transmitted to all the audio zones (and/or groups of zones) associated with the con-
sole keys (keys 1 to 16).
