RELAY Used for choosing a relay of the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards to be switched when the output is connected with an audio
input, except for the BGM type inputs (background music). The relay can be normally open or normally closed, and switches back
to the normal position, defined using the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu, as soon as the output is no longer connected. Use the +
and - keys to select the desired relay name from those defined using the RELAY CONFIGURATION menu (NAME field). If you choo-
se the NO RELAY option, no relay is selected.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• The relay is never switched when the output is connected with a BGM type input (background music).
NOTE
• The outputs of the OB 3230 AUDIO OUTPUT boards enable sound coverage of a specific audio zone; consequently, the OUTPUT PRO-
CESSORS menu indirectly enables the definition of the audio zones of the system.
The first screen only shows the first 4 fields (N., NAME, VOX, TYPE) of the first 3 outputs. To display the next field, press →; to display the
previous field, press ←.

->GROUPS
This menu is used for defining the groups of audio zones. Creating groups of zones makes it possible to simplify the operations involved in
selecting the zones to which a certain audio signal is to be transmitted. For example, the groups of zones can be used by the BM 3604 and
BM 3616 consoles for selecting multiple audio zones with a single key. One group can include all the zones of the system. From the main con-
figuration menu of the control unit, use the ↑ / ↓ and/or pag↑ / pag↓ keys to move the selection point to the GROUPS submenu and press
ENTER. The fields described below appear on the control unit display.
N. GROUPS Indicates sequentially the number of the group of audio zones to be programmed. A maximum of 24 groups of zones can be
defined.
NAME
Used for defining the identification name of the group of zones, which can be composed of a maximum of 16 alphanumerical
characters. Use the + and - keys to select the alphanumerical characters in rotation, and confirm each character with ENTER.
The numerical characters can be selected directly on the numerical keypad.
The number of zones belonging to the group is indicated next to the name of the group. To define the zones belonging to each
group, you have to access a particular submenu by pressing F1 (see the section DEFINING THE ZONES OF EACH GROUP).
