PASSWORD FOR MENU ACCESS

Using two passwords, certain menus on the CP 3100 control unit can be made accessible only to authorized operators. The two types of con-
trol unit passwords are:
• USER PASSWORD – The password that can be used by all operators authorized for system configuration. It can be composed of a maxi-
mum of 8 numerical characters. To assign the user password, proceed as described in the section USING THE "SYSTEM" MENU.
• SUPERVISOR PASSWORD – This is a secret password reserved to the system supervisor. It is set by RCF, and can substitute for the user
password when the latter has been forgot.
NOTE
• The "supervisor password" is set by RCF and cannot be modified.
The menus that can be protected by password are:
• CONFIGURATION menu, used for system configuration (see the section SYSTEM CONFIGURATION).
• STORE CONFIG. menu, used for implementing a configuration (see the section STORING A CONFIGURATION)
When the control unit asks you to enter the password, the following message appears on the control unit display.
INSERT PASSWORD TO ACCESS CONFIGURATION
PASSWORD:
To access the next menu, type in the "user password" or the "supervisor password " using the numerical keypad of the control unit, and then
press ENTER.

EXIT FROM MENUS

To exit from a menu/submenu of the control unit:
1) Press ESC. If any settings or parameters have been modified, the following message appears on the control unit display, asking whether
you want to save the new values.
WARNING: PARAMETERS MODIFIED !
SAVE NEW PARAMETERS ?
2a) Using the direction keys ↑ / ↓ move the selection point to YES and press ENTER to store the new parameters temporarily.
2b) Using the direction keys ↑ / ↓ move the selection point to NO and press ENTER to not save the new parameters and maintain tho-
se previously stored.
3) If no settings or parameters have been modified, the screen of the previous menu is displayed.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• When the system is configured, to save the settings permanently on the hard disk of the control unit it is indispensable to exit from the
main configuration menu using the COMPILE & SAVE command (see the section USING THE "COMPILE & SAVE" MENU).
FUNCTION
To exit from a menu/submenu.
To move the selection point to the right.
To move the selection point to the left.
To move the selection point up.
To move the selection point down.
To move the selection point to the first field of the current menu.
To move the current menu page up.
To move the current menu page down.
To set a parameter in a field, selecting in rotation among the various parameters availa-
ble. These keys are also used for inserting an alphanumerical character, selecting in ro-
tation among the various characters available.
To access certain submenus.
To enter an alphanumerical character.
To confirm a selection or a field in rotation.
To store the user password.
To insert a blank space in an alphanumerical field, moving the cursor by one position.
To cancel all the characters contained in the currently selected field.
To cancel the next or previous alphanumerical character, also enabling moves within
the current field.
