USING THE "RECORDER" MENU

This menu is used for recording audio signals: messages, announcements, pre-announcement tones, alarm tones, etc. (see the section AU-
DIO SIGNAL RECORDING/PLAYBACK). These signals are stored as audio files on the hard disk of the control unit. From the main configura-
tion menu of the control unit, use the ↑ / ↓ and/or pag ↑ / pag ↓ keys to move the selection point to the RECORDER submenu and press
ENTER. The following submenus appear on the display:

Move the selection point to this item and press ENTER to set the recording parameters described below.
RECORDER OPTION
SOUND QUALITY
MAX DURATION (SEC)
SOUND QUALITY: used for defining the sampling frequency of the recording that can be made using the submenu
RECORD: the higher the frequency selected, the higher the quality of the recording. Use the + and - keys to select
the frequency from the values 11025 Hz, 22050 Hz, and 44100 Hz.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• The frequency selected in the SOUND QUALITY field only affects the RECORD function.
MAX DURATION (SEC): used for defining the maximum duration of the recording. Use the + and - keys or the nu-
merical keypad to set the duration in the range from 1 second to 60 seconds.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• The higher the sampling frequency and duration of the recording, the larger the size of the respective audio file; e.g. a re-
cording made with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz having a duration of 60 seconds will create a file of 2.6 Mb!
• All the recordings are executed with 16 bit resolution.
To exit from the submenu, press ESC and proceed as described in the section EXIT FROM A MENU.
RECORD
Move the selection point to this item of the menu and press ENTER to record an audio signal (see the section AUDIO SI-
GNAL RECORDING/PLAYBACK). The following screen appears on the control unit display.
RECORD A MESSAGE

DURATION:
RECORD A MESSAGE: used for choosing the audio source to be used for the recording. Use the + and - keys to
select one of the following options:
• MICROPHONE –
• "input name" –
MESSAGE NAME: used for defining the name of the file in which the audio signal to be recorded will be stored; the
name can be composed of a maximum of 8 alphanumerical characters. Use the + and - keys to select the alphanu-
merical characters in rotation, and confirm each character with ENTER. The numerical characters can be selected di-
rectly on the numerical keypad.
DURATION: bar indicator that represents the time elapsed from the beginning of the recording with respect to the to-
tal time available, which is represented by the entire length of the bar. The total time available is that defined by means
of the OPTIONS submenu. When the recording is not in progress, the message STOPPED is displayed.

selects the microphone connected to the MICRO IN input of the control unit audio board as the
recording source.
selects one of the inputs of the IB 3210 / IB 3280 AUDIO INPUT boards as the recording sour-
ce. Use the + and - keys to select the name of the input desired from those defined by means
of the INPUT PROCESSORS menu (NAME field).
