• It is not possible to listen locally to the audio signal created (F1 key) when a system audio source monitor operation is in
progress (see the section USING THE "MONITOR OPERATIONS" MENU. In this case, in fact, if F1 is pressed (playback
start command) an acoustic warning signal is emitted. To play the audio files, it is therefore necessary to first interrupt any
audio monitoring in progress.

TONE GENERATOR Select this menu item and press ENTER to create a sound composed of a maximum of 6 single tones, which can be de-
fined as desired (see the section AUDIO SIGNAL RECORDING/PLAYBACK). The following screen appears on the control
unit display.

RIPETITIONS:
N.: indicates the progressive number of the tone to be inserted in the complete sound.
FILE NAME: used for defining the name of the audio file in which the sequence of tones is to be stored; the name
can be composed of a maximum of 8 alphanumerical characters. Use the + and - keys to select the alphanumeri-
cal characters in rotation, and confirm each character with ENTER. The numerical characters can be selected direc-
tly on the numerical keypad. The definition of this field is indispensable in order to program the subsequent fields.
START: used for defining the initial frequency of the tone, expressed in hertz. Use the numerical keypad to set the
frequency, selecting between the values 100 Hz and 4 kHz.
END: used for defining the final frequency of the tone, expressed in hertz. Use the numerical keypad to set the fre-
quency, selecting between the values 100 Hz and 4 kHz.
DUR.: used for defining the duration of the tone in milliseconds. Use the numerical keypad to set the duration, se-
lecting between the values 0 ms and 9999 ms.
AMPL.: used for defining the volume of the tone. Use the + and - keys to select the volume from the following va-
lues::
• "1" – Volume at 25 % (minimum volume)
• "2" – Volume at 50 %.
• "3" – Volume at 75 %.
• "4" – Volume at 100 % (maximum volume)
REPETITIONS: used for defining the number of times the sequence of tones defined must be repeated and saved
in the audio file to be created. Use the + and - keys or the numerical keypad to select the number of repetitions in
the range of values from 1 to 9.
After completing the fields of the menu, press F1 to listen locally to the sound created using the monitor speaker of the
CP 3100 control unit; press F2 to interrupt the playback before the end.
