USING THE "ACU" MENU

- - - = = = MAIN MENU = = = - - -
->RELAY CONFIGURATION
->CONSOLES
->ACU (AMPLIFIERS)
This menu is used for programming the A.C.U.s; i.e. the RB 3300 back-amplifier boards that control the amplifiers of the system (see the section
AMPLIFIER CONTROL UNITS). From the main configuration menu of the control unit, use the ↑ / ↓ and/or pag ↑ / pag ↓ keys to move the se-
lection point to the ACU submenu and press ENTER. The fields described below appear on the control unit display.
DEV
Indicates the identification number of the A.C.U. to be programmed. The indication is sequential, and is related to the address as-
signed to the A.C.U. in the installation phase: the number 1 corresponds to the A.C.U. with address 0; the number 120 corre-
sponds to the A.C.U. with address 119.
TYPE
Used for defining the type of A.C.U.. Use the + and - keys to select the desired type from those indicated below.
• NONE:
Select this option when it is necessary to remove a failed A.C.U., either NORMAL or BACKUP type, for repairs;
otherwise, the failed A.C.U. would continue to generate an alarm. If you select the NO option, the A.C.U. is no lon-
ger controlled by the CP 3100 unit.
• NORMAL: An A.C.U. whose function is to control a primary amplifier normally dedicated to sound amplification in a certain au-
dio zone (default selection).
• BACKUP: An A.C.U. whose function is to control a backup amplifier which is normally used to substitute a primary amplifier,
for example, in the event of a breakdown of the primary amplifier.
See the section AMPLIFIER CONTROL UNITS for further information on the functions of the types of A.C.U..
GROUP
Used for defining the group to which the A.C.U. belongs. The system can handle up to 64 groups of A.C.U.s. Keep the following
indications in mind when making the group assignment:
a. A group can contain any number of NORMAL or BACKUP A.C.U.s, but the total number of units in the system must not be
greater than 120.
b. A NORMAL unit can only be substituted by a BACKUP unit when they belong to the same group.
See the section AMPLIFIER CONTROL UNITS for further information on the functions of the types of A.C.U.s. Use the + and -
keys or the numerical keypad to enter the group number within the range from 0 (default selection) to 64.
MODE
Used for choosing the method of activation/disactivation of the A.C.U. (NORMAL or BACKUP), in the event of an alarm caused
by a breakdown or malfunction of an amplifier. Use the + and - keys to select the desired method from those described be-
low.
• MANUAL – In the event of an alarm, activation/disactivation of the A.C.U. must be carried out manually using the submenu "IN-
SER. BACKUP ACU" of the main menu AUDIO PROCESS
• AUTO –
In the event of an alarm, activation/disactivation of is carried out automatically by the system.
See the section AMPLIFIER CONTROL UNITS for further information on the operation of the NORMAL and BACKUP units in the-
se two modes.
NOTE
• When an A.C.U. controls the last backup amplifier of a group, we recommend that it be set in MANUAL mode, as in the event
of a PA FAULT or OVL alarm caused by the respective amplifier, this will prevent the amplifier from being excluded and sound
transmission interrupted because there is no further backup amplifier that can replace it.
PGM
Used for activating/disactivating the DAY/NIGHT function on the A.C.U.s equipped with the optional LB 3340 DIGITAL ALC board
(see the section DAY/NIGHT FUNCTION). Use the + and - keys to select one of the following options:
• ON – DAY/NIGHT function activated (default selection).
• OFF – DAY/NIGHT function disactivated.
The first screen only shows the first 3 A.C.U.s. To display the subsequent or previous units, press the ↑ / ↓ and/or pag ↑ / pag ↓ keys.
