CP 3100 - REAR PANEL DEVICES (Fig. 2)
(1) POWER switch
For switching the unit on and off.
(2) Fan
For cooling the unit.
(3) Power cable socket
Used for connecting the power cable supplied with the unit.
(4) AC OUTLET
Connected in parallel with socket (3), this connector provides a convenient power supply for a video monitor (where present).
(5) MONITOR BUS terminal strips
Two 3-pin terminal strips used for connecting the monitor bus lines leading from the RB 3300 back-amplifier boards and from the
MB 3200 sub-racks. The two lines make it possible to monitor the audio signals managed by the system (input/output signals, signals
of the amplifiers controlled by the RB 3300 back-amplifier boards, etc.).
(6) Serial port N°2 (COM 2)
Unusable
(7) PS2 mouse port
Unusable
(8) Socket for keyboard
Enables connection of a standard computer keyboard which can be used as an alternative to the keyboard on the front panel of the
unit. The keyboard must be used in conjunction with a monitor connected to socket (12), and facilitates the system configuration ope-
rations.
(9) Serial port N°1 (COM 1)
RS 232 serial port on 9-pin male SUB D connector, used for connecting the system with an external configuration PC.
(10) Parallel port N°1 (LPT 1)
Parallel port on 25-pin female SUB D connector, used for connecting the system to a printer in order to have a printout of the system
configuration and alarm messages.
(11) Serial port N°4 (COM 4)
Balanced RS 485 serial port for communication between the CP 3100 control unit and the BM 3616 digital consoles of the system.
(12) Connector for video monitor
Enables connection of a video monitor to be used in alternative to the LCD display on the front panel of the unit.
The monitor must be used in conjunction with an external keyboard to be connected to socket (8), and facilitates the system configu-
ration operations.
(13) Serial port N°3 (COM 3)
Balanced RS 485 serial port for communication between the CP 3100 control unit and the RB 3300 back-amplifier boards of the
system.
(14) Connector for sub-rack
DCI synchronous serial port which enables communication between the CP 3100 control unit and the MB 3200 sub-racks of the system.
(15) Audio board LINE OUT output
Enables the output of the line level audio signal of the audio board of the control unit, and can be used for driving one of the audio in-
puts of the system (PLAYBACK input of an IB 3210 / IB 3280 AUDIO INPUT board).
(16) Audio board LINE OUT input
Makes it possible to drive the audio board of the unit with the line level audio signal to be recorded, coming from an audio output of the
system (RECORDER output of an OB 3230 AUDIO OUTPUT board), or from an external audio source (e.g. cassette player, tuner,
CD player, etc.).
(17) Audio board MICRO IN input
Makes it possible to drive the audio board of the unit with the signal to be recorded coming from an external microphone.
(18) Unusable connector
