5.3.6 Editing patient data

Patient data exported from CardiosSoft
independently of CardioSoft
EDIT DATABASE in the main menu and press (ENTER). Choose the desired measurement with the arrow
keys and make the changes.
Please note:
Editing patient data may influence predicted normal calculation and the system
interpretation of the test result. Consequently, recheck the measurement result
if height, age, ethnic group or sex are changed.

5.4 Conducting a spirometry test with EasyWare and EasyOne

This Chapter describes the procedure for conducting a spirometry test using EasyWare and EasyOne.
For this purpose, EasyOne must be operated in so-called Online mode. EasyOne must be connected to
a USB port of the PC via the Screen-Connector. The tests conducted in this way cannot be exported to
the CardioSoft
TM
database.
Please proceed as follows in order to conduct a test:
Create a new patient record by choosing New Patient in the Edit menu. This step is optional. A
new patient record can also be entered subsequently with the EasyOne keyboard (see below).
Use the menu or the toolbar to switch to Online mode. A window similar to the Test Preview
window is displayed on the PC screen.
The EasyOne can now be operated normally with the instrument's keyboard. Choose "Perform
Test / Search" to retrieve the previously entered patient data or choose "Perform Test / New" to
enter new patient data. Now conduct a spirometry test as normal.
When you conduct the test on the patient, flow/volume and volume/time diagrams are shown
in real time. The most recent curve is always shown in dark red, and the messages for the cur-
rent test are shown beneath the numeric data. Alternatively, a pediatric animation can be used
for FVC tests (see Chapter 7.8).
Remarks:
Online mode can be quit at any time with the OK button.
Online mode can be used with all test types and also with Post test.
EasyOne synchronizes again automatically with EasyWare when you quit the Online mode.

6 Further explanation of the spirometry tests

When you enter the patient data or select an existing patient, you will see the Test menu with the fol-
lowing selection options:
FVC (expiration)
FVL (inspiration and expiration)
MVV
Slow VC
It is also possible to add a "Post" test to a FVC or FVL Test.
The various measurement methods are outlined below. Good co-operation on the part of the patient is
essential with all methods. Consequently, you should explain to the patient clearly beforehand what he
or she has to do and motivate the patient to co-operate. Choose the required measurement method
with keys (>) or (<) and confirm with ENTER.
TM
to EasyOne cannot be edited. Patient data entered in EasyOne
TM
can be edited or supplemented subsequently. In order to do this, go to
