INSPECTION
1. Measure:
Runout
Use the V-blocks and a dial gauge.
Out of specification → Replace or repair the
crankshaft.
Dial gauge:
90890-03097, YU-03097
Maximum runout:

: 0.03 mm (0.0012 in)

2. Measure:
Small end free play a
Use the dial gauge.
Out of specification → Replace the defective
parts.
Small end free play: a
0.8 ~ 1.0 mm (0.03 ~ 0.04 in)
Big end side clearance b
Use the thickness gauge.
Out of specification → Replace the defective
parts.
Big end side clearance: b
0.25 ~ 0.75 mm (0.01 ~ 0.03 in)
3. Inspect:
Crankshaft bearing 1
Pitting/damage → Replace.
Stopper ring 2
Bends/damage → Replace.
Crankshaft oil seals 3
Impeller drive gear teeth 4
Wear/damage → Replace.
CAUTION:
Lubricate the bearings immediately after examin-
ing them in order to prevent rust.
