- Only for SIGNAL GENERATOR:
-
SINE WAVE: a sine waveform signal shall be generated for which FREQ and LEVEL shall be defined.
-
WHITE NOISE: a signal called white noise shall be generated. It is a random signal in which all
frequencies have the same proportion, resulting in a flat spectrum. The LEVEL parameter has to be
defined, the FREQ parameter does not affect it.
-
PINK NOISE: a signal called pink noise shall be generated. It is a signal characterised by a sound
pressure level inversely proportional to the frequency resulting in a downward sloping spectrum.
The LEVEL parameter has to be defined, the FREQ parameter does not affect it.
-
FREQ: frequency to be generated with the sine wave of frequency between 20 Hz and 20 KHz.
-
LEVEL: signal level produced by the signal generator (sine, white or pink noise).
DSP MODULE - EXP - EXPANDER
This module is a dynamic processing
tool that increases the dynamic
range of an audio signal. Adds
dynamics to the signal for each
input channel. When the input signal
is below the threshold, the expander
amplifies it with the set ratio value.
If the signal is above the threshold,
the output remains identical. By
setting the ratio value to maximum
(Limit), the expander becomes a
noise gate.
Its parameters are:
-
THESSHOLD: expander release time when signal goes above threshold value.
-
RATIO: amplification ratio between the input signal and the amplified signal.
-
ATTACK: expander reaction time when the input signal is below the threshold value.
-
RELEASE: compressor release time when the signal goes above the threshold value.
-
ON/OFF: enables or disables the module. If OFF (disabled) the input signal is not processed and is
passed on to the next processing module.
On the left you can see graphically the combination of the parameters and G.R. which will show the amount
of dynamic range added to the signal.
DSP MODULE - COMP - COMPRESSOR
This
module
is
a
processing tool that reduces the
dynamic range of an audio signal.
Limits the signal dynamics for
each input channel. When the
signal exceeds the threshold, it
is compressed by a ratio greater
than 1. Below the threshold, the
compressor does not modify
the signal. By setting the ratio
to its maximum value (Limit), the
compressor becomes a limiter.
Its parameters are:
-
THRESHOLD: threshold value, the signal above this value, will be compressed according to the selected
compression ratio.
-
RATIO: compression ratio between the input signal and the compressed signal.
-
ATTACK: compressor reaction time when the input signal is above the threshold value.
