GPIO SETTING
The general purpose inputs and outputs, or GPIOs, are physically located on the rear panel of the matrix
and allow actions to be performed based on a trigger action. Each matrix has 8 configurable GPIOs in this
menu option.
At the top, you can select the input/output to be configured with the selection buttons 1-8 and then determine
in the DIRECTION field which input (INPUT) or output (OUTPUT) is to be configured. Then, the ACTIVE
option will allow us to activate or deactivate this input/output. Depending on whether it is configured as input
or output, the rest of the options to be configured will be different.
Once configured you can save the configuration in a SAVE AS file or save it directly in the SAVE matrix.
The saved configuration files can be loaded into the matrix by pressing the OPEN button which allows you
to select the file on your PC.
NOTE: If you are performing this configuration offline, be sure to save the configuration to a file before
connecting the matrix or it will be lost. If you are connecting the matrix for the first time, the matrix settings
will be overwritten with the settings available in the software at that time.
CONFIGURATION OF A GPIO INPUT
-
CONTROL TYPE: determines the function that will control or be controlled by this GPIO input and this
parameter will also determine the options to be configured.
-
PRESET: activates a defined preset when the triggering event occurs. The parameters to be configured
are: TRIGGER TYPE and PRESET.
-
ROUTE: routes an input signal X to an output Y when the triggering event occurs. The parameters to
be configured are: TRIGGER TYPE, INPUT and OUTPUT.
-
GAIN: modifies the gain parameter on a channel when the triggering event occurs. The parameters to
be configured are: TRIGGER TYPE, CHANNEL and STEP.
-
MUTE/UNMUTE: will mute the audio when the triggering event occurs and unmute when the triggering
event no longer occurs. The parameters to be configured are: TRIGGER TYPE and CHANNEL.
-
COMMAND: will send a hexadecimal command via RS232 when the triggering event occurs. The
parameters to be configured are: TRIGGER TYPE and COMMAND.
-
ANALOG TO DIGITAL GAIN: control the gain of a channel by means of a potentiometer connected to
that input. The parameters to be configured are: CHANNEL.
-
Configuration options depending on the value of CONTROL TYPE:
-
TRIGGER TYPE: (for all CONTROL TYPE options except ANALOG TO DIGITAL GAIN) defines the
signal voltage that will trigger the event. HIGH LEVEL TRIGGER voltage shall be above the threshold
and LOW LEVEL TRIGGER below the threshold.
-
PRESET: (only for CONTROL TYPE: PRESET) defines the preset to be affected by the event.
-
INPUT & OUTPUT: (only for CONTROL TYPE: ROUTE) selects the input and output channels to be
routed.
-
CHANNEL: (only for CONTROL TYPE: GAIN, MUTE/UNMUTE and ANALOG TO DIGITAL GAIN)
selects the system input, output or channel to be affected by the event.
-
STEP: (only for CONTROL TYPE: GAIN) defines the gain increase/decrease in dBs.
-
COMMAND: (only for CONTROL TYPE: COMMAND) hexadecimal string to be sent via RS232.
