for AutoMixer
This module is a mixer that automatically adjusts the level of the audio sources, homogenising their volume.
It also reduces the level of inactive audio sources, which is especially useful in microphones to avoid picking
up unwanted signals. It also allows different levels of priority to be assigned to the audio inputs, with higher
priority inputs taking precedence over lower priority inputs.
By default, this AutoMixer module uses GAIN SHARING technology which provides a more natural sounding
mix of multiple microphones than GATING AUTOMIXER gate technology. GAIN SHARING uses mathematics
to reduce the individual gain of a microphone as microphones are added. Basically, for every doubling of the
number of open microphones (NOM), the AutoMixer reduces the overall gain by 3 dB. The effect is a smooth,
natural, conversational-sounding mix.
This software allows you to choose between 2 technologies: GAIN SHARING or GATING AUTOMIXER which,
as we have already explained, is a less advanced technology and produces a less natural result. To modify
the technology to be used in this AutoMixer module:
-
In the HOME tab, click the edit panel button
-
Right-click on the button highlighted in the middle as GAIN SHARING AUTOMIXER.
-
Select GATING AUTOMIXER.
-
Press the edit panel button
