b. Keep it charging with an ade-
quate buffer battery charger or
recharge it periodically (every four
weeks);
5. Engine: remove the starter key and/
or the spark plug hood.
6. Wheels: keep the machine raised so
as to avoid prolonged static contact
between wheels and ground;
7. Parking:
a. Do not park the machine in
damp environments.
b. Park the machine on stable and
flat ground.
c. Park the machine following the
indications in the "Parking the Ma-
chine" chapter.
8. Cover:
a. Cover the machine with a nylon
or fabric dust cover;
b. Cover the sharp parts of the ma-
chine, the tools and the accesso-
ries.

7.1. EMPTY THE PETROL TANK

DANGER!
In some conditions the fuel can be ex-
tremely dangerous, explosive and flam-
mable. Explosions or fires of any kind
can cause serious damage to property
and injury to people.

DANGER!
Only empty the fuel tank when the en-
gine has cooled right down. Carry out
this operation out of doors and prompt-
ly clean up any leakage.
DANGER!
Do not smoke, use mobile telephone
or other electrical devices. Do not ap-
proach sources of heat sources.
Procedure:
1. Park the machine on a flat and sta-
ble surface.
2. Close the petrol tap

and turn on the machine;
3. Let the machine turn off empty-
ing the filter and circuit between the
(closed)tap and the pump of petrol.
4. Once the engine has turned off re-
move the ignition key and/or the spark
plug cap to prevent any start up;
5. Disconnect the petrol tube of the
tap from the engine side;
6. Place the tube in a suitable contain-
er for collecting petrol.
7. Open the tap and empty the whole
content of the tank into the receptacle.
8. To assist the complete emptying tilt
the machine resting its lower part and
shaking the handlebars gently.
