AUTOSTERIL / TIME FLUSHING SYSTEM
The Autosteril/Time Flushing system is used to decontaminate the spray water tubes of the instruments.
Autosteril - The introduction into the water system of a sporicidal, virucidal, antifungal, bactericide chemical agent,
after an appropriate contact time, sanitises the unit's water tubes.
The contact time is the length of time that the chemical agent remains inside the unit's water tubes. The system's
efficiency is directly proportional to the contact time set.
A final rinse phase removes product residue and leaves selected rinse liquid inside the circuit (mains water or liquid of
the separate supply system).
TIME FLUSHING
- Through the flow of liquid selected for the sprays (mains water or liquid in separate supply system),
Time Flushing results in a hygienic sanitation of the spray instrument water tubes.
Autosteril and Time Flushing are not meant to supply liquids during operation but to work while the system is stopped.
The disinfectant products suitable for Autosteril cycles and the suggested liquids for separate supply are indicated in the
paragraph "Products for Use with the Castellini Dental unit".
Warning:
Always check the type of liquid present in the tank, both before cycle start-up and before resuming
normal use.
When using the Electrical Micromotor always pay maximum attention to the acoustic warnings relative to the separate
supply reservoir reserve. Never operate it with the supply reservoir empty so as to avoid the output of air from the
surgical field spray tube.
PREPARATION
Disconnect the Turbine, Micromotor and Scaler handpieces and open the cord terminal flow regulators to maximum.
Place the instrument cord terminals into the bays on the water unit (4 – fig. 18).
Note: it is possible to run cycles with the handpieces connected to the cords, making sure to remove the milling cutters
and scaler attachments before placing instruments in their bays. The syringe requires the installation of the opening
valve device.
AUTOSTERIL
Carry out the preparatory steps described above:
- position the liquid selection lever on
(1 – fig. 18).Press the start button
.
Attention: make sure that liquid comes out of the instruments.
Once the flow of disinfectant has finished (approximately 1.5 minutes) stand by for the indicated contact time to pass (5
- 10 minutes according to the treatment level desired).
Perform a rinse executing a Time-Flushing cycle (see Time-Flushing).
At the end of the cycle replace the hand units in their holders, lubricate the instruments rotating and activating them for
a few moments.
TIME-FLUSHING

(1 - fig. 18). Press the
start cycle button.
Warning: make sure that the liquid is discharged from the instruments
Stand by for the end of the flow of the liquid (approximately 1.5 minutes)
At the end of the cycle replace the instruments on the hand unit holder.
