6.11 Sewing Foot Lift

The sewing foot can be lifted mechanically or solenoidally for positioning and moving
the material. Dependent on machine type and equipment of the special sewing
machine, the lifting occurs through operation of the knee lever 2 or stepping back on
the pedal.
Mechanical sewing foot lift
(Classes: 271-140341, 272-140341, 271-140331, 272-140331)
Operate knee lever 2.
The sewing foot remains raised as long as the knee lever 2 is operated.
Solenoidal sewing foot lift
(Classes: 271-140342, 271-140442, 272-140342, 272-640642, 272-740642,
273-140342, 274-140342, 271-140332, 271-140432, 272-140332, 273-140432)
Step half back on the pedal.
The sewing foot remains raised as long as the pedal is held in this position.
At the seam end, step completely back on the pedal to activate the thread trimmer
and lift the sewing foot.

6.12 Arresting the Sewing Foot in the High Position

The mechanically or solenoidally raised sewing foot can be arrested in the high position
with button 1 (e.g. for winding the underthread).
With the sewing machine idle, step half back on the pedal or operate
the knee lever.
The sewing foot lifts.
Press button 1 and release the pedal or knee lever.
The raised sewing foot is arrested in the high position.
Step half back on the pedal again or operate the knee lever again.
The sewing foot is released.
