6.12 Locking the sewing foot in elevated position

The sewing foot can be lifted mechanically or electro-magnetically for
the purpose of inserting and shifting the fabric. Depending upon
machine type and equipment of the special machine, lifting is
achieved by actuating the knee lever 2 (optional) or reverse treading
on the pedal.
Mechanical sewing foot lift (knee lever optional)
Actuate the knee lever 2.
The sewing foot remains lifted as long as the knee lever 2 is
actuated.
Electro-magnetic sewing foot lift
Move the pedal halfway back.
The sewing foot remains lifted as long as the pedal is held in the
position.
Move the pedal all the way back with the foot at seam end, in
order to activate the thread cutter and to lift the sewing foot.
The mechanically or electro-magnetically lifted sewing foot can be
locked in elevated position with knob 1 (e.g. for winding the hook
thread).
When the sewing machine is at standstill, step on the pedal such
that it moves halfway back or actuate the knee lever.
The sewing foot is lifted.
Press knob 1 and release the pedal or release the knee lever.
The lifted sewing foot is locked in the elevated position.
Once again move the pedal halfway in reverse direction or once
again actuate the knee lever.
The locking of the sewing foot is reversed.
