6.7 Verifying the Direction of Rotation of the Sewing Drive

The arrow on the belt guard shows the correct direction of rotation for the machine.
The direction of rotation of the direct current positioning drive is set to a
counterclockwise rotation of the handwheel via the preset value of the corresponding
parameter in the controls. However, the first thing that must be checked during
commissioning is the direction of rotation. For this, one proceeds e.g. as follows:
Preparation! Arrest the sewing foot in the high position.
(see Operating Instructions Chapter 6.13)
DA220C controls
–
The plugs of the controller, motor, motor sensor and control panel (if present) must
be plugged in. (see Chapter 6.5)
–
The 37 pin plug of the sewing machine head is not to be plugged in.
–
Turn the main switch on.
The control panel shows "Inf A5" or "A5", this means that no valid Autoselect
resistor was found and the maximum speed is therefore limited.
–
Step slightly forward on the pedal; the drive turns; check the direction of rotation.

If the direction of rotation of the drive is not correct, the parameter 161 at the
"Technician Level" must be set to 1. For this, see Chapter 7.1.4.

Turn the main switch off.

Plug in the 37 pin plug of the sewing machine head again.

The 37 pin plug of the sewing machine head is not to be plugged in.
–
Turn the main switch on.
–
Step slightly forward on the pedal; the drive turns; check the direction of rotation.

If the direction of rotation of the drive is not correct, it must be corrected.
For this, see Chapter 8.1.2
–
Turn the main switch off.
–
Plug in the 37 pin plug of the sewing machine head again.
ATTENTION!
Before commissioning the special sewing machine it is
essential that the direction of rotation of the sewing drive
be checked.
The operation of the special sewing machine with an
incorrect direction of rotation can lead to damage.
