8. Operating and Setting the Direct-current Positioning Drive

Operation
The DA40MS02 controls contain all operating elements necessary for changing of
functions and the setting of several parameters and can be operated without control
panel . Additionally, the OC-TOP control panel can be connected to the controls
available as optional equipment. Seam programming can be conducted with the control
panel.

Functions of the DA40MS02 Controls
The functions of the DA40MS02 controls are determined by the program and the
settings of the parameters. With the correct setting of the parameter values the
controls are optimally set for each class and subclass. The parameter values have been
previously set in the controls (preset). For each class and subclass individual
parameters must be changed in relation to the preset value. See Chapter 8.2.9 .
At delivery of the machines by Dürkopp Adler AG all parameters in the controls are
correctly preset.
Access Authorization for command entries
In order to prevent involuntary changes to preset functions the command entry is
divided to several levels.
Programming level A (operator level)
All parameters which directly effect the sewing procedure are set at this level.
Programming level B (mechanic level)
Parameters which are seldom changed or only at the commissioning of the controls are
set at this level.
Programming level C (special level)
Parameters which may only be changed in exceptional cases are found at this level.
