RECOIL STARTER
3. Wind the rope 2-1/4 turns on to the
sheave drum.
4. Place the rope at the cutaway.
5. Position the inner end of the starter-
spring on the retainer-post of the
sheave-drum.
6. Install the bushing to the starter-case.
Water resistant grease
NOTE:
Apply water resistant grease to the outer
surface of the bushing.
7. Pass the starter-rope through the cut.
8. Wind-up the spring 2 turns counter-
clockwise with the starter-rope.
9. Install the roller, the collar and the rope-
guide.
Water resistant grease
NOTE:
Apply water resistant grease to the collar.
10. Hook the drive-pawl spring onto the
drive-pawl, install the drive-pawl on the
starter-case boss, and then hook the
drive-pawl onto the bushing.
Water resistant grease
NOTE:
Apply water resistant grease to the pawl-
drive hole.
