exposed opening. To attach the Post, grab it by the collar located at the
bottom of the Post. Press the release button (Fig 13A) and push the collar
downward (Fig 13B). Engage the collar with the silver 'mount' located on the
top of the Patient Platform on the operative side, pivot the Post into the
opening on the Patient Platform and release the collar (Fig 13C). Ensure that
the collar engages the opening in the Patient Platform and locks the Post in
place by pulling on the post to ensure engagement.
Place the reusable Perineal Post Pad (AR-6529-08 or AR-6529-21) onto the
Perineal Post. Place the Disposable Post Pad Cover over the Post following the
directions for the Cover. Rotate so that the seam faces away from the patient.
If using the HDS Postless Hip Arthroscopy Disposables Kit, refer to the instructions
for use included with the product.
Positioning the Patient:
Unlock the Carriages on the Well Leg and Operative Spars.
Slide the patient distally, so that the patient's perineum is positioned against
the Perineal Pad. While the patient is being slid distally, a member of the staff
can also pull the carriages on the Well Leg and Operative Spars distally so that
the patient's legs are fully extended.
Positioning the Spars:
Abduction / Adduction
Abduction and/or Adduction of the patient's leg may
be achieved by actuating the squeeze trigger on the
Spar handle (Fig 14A). Actuating this trigger will permit
the Spar to be adducted (pivoted towards the mid-line
of the patient) or abducted (pivoted away the mid-
line of the patient). This feature is available on both the
Operative and Well Leg Spars (Fig 14B).
