INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
e. Proper understanding of appropriate surgical techniques is required prior to using
this product.
f. Ensure that the patient weight does not exceed the recommended OR table and
HDS system specifications.
g. Ensure that the OR table rails are in good condition. If they are damaged, do not
mount the system to the table.
h. Changing the Spar position intraoperatively may change the amount of traction
that is applied to the patient. Ensure that excessive traction is not applied.

Excessive pressure caused by inappropriate device contact with skin or
overtightening security straps may result in pressure sores. Ensure straps and pads
are positioned appropriately.
j.
Under tightening security straps can result in unintended patient movement.
Ensure that all straps are tightened to restrain excess patient movement.
k. Failure to use this device in accordance with the directions for use may result in
device failure, render the device unsuitable for its intended use, or compromise
the procedure.
CAUTION:
a. Do not submerge any section of product. As an alternative, spray wipe with
cleaning solution and clean product with wipe.
b. Refer to the surgical table manufacturer's user guide for instructions regarding the
use of the table. Always refer to the surgical table manufacturer's weight limits.
c. Ensure that the OR table is locked prior to mounting the Hip Distraction System.
d. Do not use if product shows visible damage.
e. Ensure device is securely attached and locked to OR Table accessory rail before
transferring patient. Different OR tables may have different table rail dimensions
depending on country of manufacture/use.
f. Do not exceed safe working load shown in the product specification table.
