7.10.14.1.3 Maximum metering phase

The maximum metering phase determines the upper limit of the metering stroke duration
in seconds after which the pump switches to the stroke/pause mode.
If the metering pump is operated together with an oval gear meter for
metering monitoring, the metering speed of the pump must not be below
the start-up limit of the oval gear meter, otherwise exact metering
monitoring is no longer possible.
The metering stroke duration of the pump is determined by the setting of the metering rate
(the smaller the metering rate the longer the metering stroke duration).
This means: When the upper limit is set for the max. metering phase in seconds, the lower
limit for the metering capacity in l/h is also fixed at the same time beyond which the pump
changes to stroke/pause mode.
If the metering capacity of the pump is now reduced to such an extent that the set limit of
the max. metering phase is exceeded, the pump automatically switches to the
stroke/pause mode.
This ensures that the metering stroke duration is not extended beyond the set limit and
that the metering speed of the pump cannot be set below the critical range for flow
detection.
