Safety and functional checking

At the end of the commissioning the correct functioning of all the connected safety and control elements has to be
checked.
Warning:
The programmed speeds must not exceed the values specified in chart 2, in order to
guarantee that the door movement can be stopped resp. reversed within the delay-lag
distance of the EMS safety edging as soon as the latter has been actuated. Shold the
braking distance still be longer than the delay-lag distance of the EMS, the speed must be
reduced accordingly.
Warning:
The door installation must be in compliance with the guidelines of the EU resp. with the
safety regulations valid in the country of application (FCOS 1511, ZH 1/494, etc.).
Note regarding the EMS edging on the main closing edge:
In the operating modes "Fully automatic" and "OPEN-CLOSE on pulse" (in opening
direction), the EMS edging on the main closing edge has a reversing function. In all the
other operating modes the EMS causes the door leaf to stop.

Maintenance / troubleshooting

4.1

Safety and guarantee

A long lifetime and reliable operation of the ASL-S can only be guaranteed on condition that a regular maintenance
and checking is carried out at least once a year.
Maintenance shall be carried out by qualified specialists according to the maintenance chart.
In cases where the maintenance is neglected or carried out by unauthorized personnel, the manufacturer
respectively the distributor declines all responsibility for damages and any resulting consequences.
Any subsequent interventions and modifications of the installation may only be carried out by authorized and
specially trained staff and within the specified application limits.
Warning:
Before starting to work on any live elements of the ASL-S, the external main installation
switch must be switched off and locked. If only an internal flip switch is switched off, the
power supply line is still carrying voltage.
4.2

Carrying out the maintenance

The maintenance is carried out according to the maintenance chart, taking into account the detailed specification
given in chapters 4.2.2, 4.2.3, 4.2.4 and 4.2.5.
Warning:
Should it not be possible to immediately repair damages or eliminate a failure which might
jeopardize the safety of the users, the operator of the installation must be informed and the
door be taken out of operation. The malfunction has to be eliminated as soon as possible.
Each maintenance / troubleshooting service which has been carried out must be entered into the control chart / the
master card.
