Bus coupler

The AES series bus coupler for DeviceNet establishes communication between the superior
controller and connected valves and I/O modules. It is designed only for use as a slave
in an DeviceNet bus system in accordance with IEC 61158 and IEC 61784-1, CPF 2/3. Therefore,
the bus coupler must be configured. The CD R412018133, included on delivery, contains an EDS file
for the configuration (see section 5.2 "Loading the device description file" on page 86).
During cyclical data transfer, the bus coupler can send 512 bits of input data to the controller and
receive 512 bits of output data from the controller. To communicate with the valves, an electronic
interface for the valve driver connection is located on the right side of the bus coupler. The left side
of the device contains an electronic interface which establishes communication with the
I/O modules. The two interfaces function independently.
The bus coupler can actuate a maximum of 64 single or double solenoid valves (128 solenoid coils)
and up to 10 I/O modules. It supports a minimal update interval of 1 ms and baud rates up to
500 kBaud.
All electrical connections are located on the front side, and all status displays on the top.
