Malfunction Possible cause
UL LED flashes red The electronics supply voltage is less
than the lower tolerance limit (18 V DC)
and greater than 10 V DC.
UL LED illuminated red The electronics supply voltage is less
than 10 V DC.
UL LED is off The electronics supply voltage
is significantly less than 10 V DC.
UA LED flashes red The actuator voltage is less than
the lower tolerance limit (21.6 V DC)
and greater than UA-OFF.
UA LED illuminated red The actuator voltage is less than UA-OFF.
I/O/DIAG LED flashes Invalid address (address = 0 is not
green allowed)/address 2 is automatically set
by the bus coupler
IO/DIAG LED Diagnostic message from module
illuminated red present
IO/DIAG LED flashes There is no module connected
red to the bus coupler.
There is no end plate present.
More than 32 electrical components are
connected on the valve side (see "12.5.3
Impermissible configurations"
on page 119).
Over ten modules are connected
in the I/O zone.
The module circuit boards are not
plugged together correctly.
A module circuit board is defective.
The bus coupler is defective.
The new module is not recognized.
MNS LED is off. The device is not online.
• The device has not completed the
Dup_MAC_ID test.
• The device is possibly not switched on.
Status: No power supply/not online
MNS LED flashes Specific device with faulty
green/red communication. The device has detected
a network access error and is
in communication error mode.
The device then received a faulty request
for identification communication.
Status: Faulty communication and
request received for identity
communication
Troubleshooting
Remedy
Check the power supply at plug X1S.
Set correct address (see "9.2 Setting the
address on the bus coupler" on page 99)
Check modules.
Connect a module.
Connect an end plate.
Reduce the number of electrical
components on the valve side to 32.
Reduce the number of modules
in the I/O zone to ten.
Check the plug contacts of all modules
(I/O modules, bus coupler, valve drivers,
and end plates).
Exchange the defective module.
Exchange the bus coupler
Contact AVENTICS GmbH (see back cover
for address)
Turn on device and wait until the
Dup_MAC_ID test has been completed.
Check network access.
