214. Fit the cowling to the fuselage. Trim the cowling as necessary
to it around the mufler. Secure the cowling to the fuselage
using four M3 x 15 socket head cap screws and four M3
washers. Tighten the screws using a 2.5mm hex wrench.
Î Place a drop of canopy glue on the screws before
installation. This will keep the screws from vibrating
loose yet leave them easily removable if necessary.
‰ PROPELLER AND SPINNER INSTALLATION
Î The propeller shown is a specially made scale prop
that replicates the modern prop used by the full scale.
These are available from JC Super Props (Brazil) or though
their US distributor http://www.aircraftinternational.com.
Î The spinner cone has been prepared with the
slots for the propeller. Most engines of this size use
four bolts to retain the propeller. Careful positioning of
the drilled holes is required to make sure the propeller
aligns with the cutouts in the spinner cone.
215. Use a stepped reamer or bolt through the spinner back plate
and propeller to hold them in alignment so the bolt holes for
attaching the propeller can be marked.
Î We recommend preparing a second propeller in case
a new propeller is required when out flying the model.
216. Use the four M2.5 x 10 socket head cap screws to secure the
spinner cone to the back plate. Use a 2mm hex wrench to
tighten the screws.

217. Position the propeller so it does not contact the spinner cone.
Î It may be necessary to trim the spinner cone to clear
the propeller depending on the choice of propellers.
218. Use a pin vise and 3/16-inch (4.5mm) drill bit to drill and
indent or marker for the mounting bolt locations.
219. Disassemble the spinner and remove the propeller. Use a drill
press and 7/32-inch (5mm) drill bit to drill the holes in the
propeller for the mounting screws.
Î A drill press is highly recommended for drilling
the holes to guarantee the holes are properly
aligned when installing the propeller.
220. Rotate the engine so it is against compression. Locate prop
in favored position in relation to compression. Follow any
instructions included with the engine to attach the propeller.
221. Attach the spinner cone using the four M2.5 x 10 socket head
cap screws and a 2mm hex wrench.
