The encoder is provided with signals of track A+, A-, B+, B- zero+,
zero- and an additional control signal for monitoring the encoder cable.
The additional transmission of the inverted signals results in increased
interference immunity, which means that longer signal cables can be
used than for unipolar signal transmission.
The screen of the encoder line must be connected to earth ground a
wide area, both on the motor side and on the converter side.

After installation of the SBP optional board has been completed, an
automatic self-test is carried out when the basic unit (converter/inverter)
is powered up.
Please refer to the documentation for the respective basic unit
regarding instructions for parameterization using the quick procedure.
If the SBP pulse encoder board is used as a motor encoder, the
direction of rotation and rotational speed of the motor shaft must
correspond with the signals of the SBP pulse encoder board (positive
direction of rotation of motor = positive encoder signal).
The correct connection of the pulse encoder board can be checked on
MASTERDRIVES VC with the "tachometer test" function. For this
purpose, set parameter P115 = 7 in MASTERDRIVES VC.
