Switching off the OTU-8000
1 Keep pressing on the button Off for about 3 seconds to place the
OTU-8000 in Stand-by
2 Wait that the led Stand-by indicates that the switching off procedure
is completed, (about 30 seconds). For LEDs description, see
description" page
20.
3 Unplug the 5-pin connector.
The OTU-8000 houses a maximum number of 24 testing ports
additional hardware.
With no additional hardware, your configuration offers 2, 4, 8, 12, 16 or
2
24 ports
.
NOTE
A front panel allowing 24 positions is used in all cases. Black caps
occupy unused ports for configurations with less than 24 testing ports.
Available ports are SC/APC type
panel via numbers.
One or two common ports are available on the right of the OTAU front
panel, according to your ordered configuration
a two common ports configuration allows two OTDR plug-ins to test the
same fibers.

Case A: one OTDR is used
1 Use the supplied jumper to connect the OTDR to C1 (common port
#1).
1. The number of available testing ports has been ordered and configured in the factory.
2. Contact your sales representative if you wish to upgrade your configuration at some point.
