The jumpers used to connect the OTDR to the optical switch are
provided. Patchcords to the ODF are not supplied
NOTES
Connectors are SC type. PC or APC connectors are available.
One patchcord is necessary for each fiber to connect to a testing
port.
Make sure you have the correct cables, connectors and required infor-
mation to setup and configure the network access.
To establish the communication between the OTU-8000 and the server,
you must get all necessary information concerning the IP address:
– IP address
– Subnet Mask
– Gateway
This information should be provided by your system manager.
You must get the SMTP address from your mail server. The OTU-8000
will use this information to send e-mails in case of alarm.
NOTE
Sending e-mail is only used when the server is not reachable.
