Q – Counter plate for pulley post
The counter plates for pulley posts are designed to fix
a pulley post onto a structural steel or concrete beam
or another compatible with the shear resistance load
of the pulley post (60 kN). The assembly of the post
and counter plate on the beam is performed using four
threaded bolts, nuts and M16 washers not provided
with the counter plate.

The travspring™, travspring™ One and travsmart
lifelines can only ensure their fall protection function
in combination with personal fall protection equipment
(PPE) connected to it. They can receive from one to five
PPE simultaneously. PPE associated with the lifeline
must be CE certified, manufactured in accordance
with the procedure referred to in Appendix VIII of EU
Regulation 2016/425. Tractel SAS distributes a range of
PPE compliant with the application of these regulations
and compatible with the travspring™, travspring™ One
and travsmart lifelines.
A preliminary study by a competent technician,
including strength of materials, is essential prior to
installation of the lifeline. This study should be based
on a calculation and take into account the applicable
regulations, standards and standard good practices
applicable as well as this manual, both for the lifelines
and the PPE that must be connected to them. This
manual must be delivered to the technician or the
design office responsible for the preliminary study.
The technician or design office should study the risks to
be covered by the system based on site conditions and
the activity to be protected by the lifeline against the risk
of falls. Based on these risks, they should:
– Define the attachment method (type, dimensions,
material) of the lifeline on the host surface directly
or through posts. travspring™, travspring™ One and
travsmart lifelines can be fixed directly onto a concrete
or steel bearing plane or to a post depending on the
type of host surface. Tractel
posts which the fixing plate is specifically designed for
placement on sloping mounting surfaces or roof tops.
– Check all the anchor points for the strength of the
supporting structure of the installation plane on which
the lifeline has to be fixed and the compatibility of the
