Maintenance and safety checks

NovoPorta Premio doors equipped for fire
protection are self-closing, safety systems
whose correct functioning should be guar-
anteed at all times.
The builder or operator is responsible for
the correct functioning of the fire protection
doors. For this purpose we recommend that
the builder / operator conclude a suitable
maintenance contract with an authorised
specialist.
Maintenance work should be carried out
after 50,000 uses or once a year, or when-
ever a failure should occur.
Faulty parts (fittings, accessories, glass)
should be replaced only by authorised spe-
cialists. During maintenance work the con-
ditions of the relevant general construction
approval (for smoke protection doors the
test report / certificate) should be observed.
Note: Only original replacement parts
may be used for damaged or mal-
functioning parts (fittings, accessories,
rubber seals, glass, etc.).
Maintenance and safety checks
The maintenance intervals will depend on intensity of use, but should take place a minimum of once a year. The maintenance instructions
set out below represent the minimum scope of the maintenance tasks to be carried out.

Pressure ball bearings
Door closer
Handle fittings

Please keep these assembly, operating and maintenance instructions as long as you use the product!
1. Cleaning elements, especially moving
parts and functional areas
2. Check all functions
– Automatic closing (door sequence
selector, closing force)
– Anti-panic function
– Hold-open devices (see DIBt guide-
lines)
– Sill seals or retractable seals
(triggering, seal compression)
– Free movement of handle fittings
(locks, electrical door openers, door
handles); lubrication of moving parts
– The bearing shaft of the door hinges
is made of entirely maintenance-free
plastic containing Teflon. Under no
circumstances lubricate!
– Gap between leaf and closed frame
(re-adjust hinges if necessary)
– Check firmness of fixation bolts in
the hinge area
Version
3D hinges:
3D hinges are maintenance-free. Under no circumstances lubricate!
All other hinges: Undo, clean and lubricate hinge bolts.
Where you detect damage (broken rings, defective coverings, broken or lost balls) replace
the bearing with a new one.
Check correct functioning: The door must close from all positions (latch must click home).
Adjust: in accordance with door closer assembly instructions. Spring strip, where there is
one, must be slightly tensed.
Check correct functioning: Handle must rest in horizontal position due to the spring force
of the lock. Check fixation.
Functioning of latch: must penetrate approx. 6 mm into the strike plate in the inactive leaf
(spring tension 2.5 N – 4.0 N).
Functioning of bolt: It must open on double rotation.
Check correct functioning: It must penetrate at least 6 mm into the frame cross section.
The grip of the angle gear must be always in vertical position due to spring forces. Lightly
lubricate the bolt head along its length.
The bolts must penetrate sufficiently into the opening in the frame.
Check correct functioning: The stay arm must swing out due to spring tension to the set
final position when the door leaf is opened. On closing, the active leaf's angle stop must
strike exactly on the stay and then remain in place. The inactive leaf must now on closing
take the stay with the angle stop and thus free the active leaf once more, so that the latter
can also close automatically once more. Both leaves should now be latched against each
other.
Adjust: Lightly lubricate joint at the foot of the selector If any spring is slack, replace the
device.
Where the door has a closing sequence controller, please see the maintenance instruc-
tions for the door closer.
Check the strips for damage. Always replace any strips that are damaged.
3. Check the seals between
– Leaf frame and closed frame
– Glass and leaf frame
– Closed frame and building structure
– Take remedial measures where ap-
propriate or replace sealant materi-
als or sealing profiles
– Where appropriate, replace damaged
seal strips with PVC (a material that
forms a foam in case of fire)
4. Check glass visually for cracks and
flaws
