Smoke protection
Smoke-protection doors must be fitted with
an additional retractable floor seal after in-
stallation (for notes on installation see page

(T30 and MZ only) and a door closing mech-
anism (for notes on installation see 122).
Bottom ventilation slit
for smoke-protection doors
3-10 mm
Labelling
The door must be provided with an appro-
priate rating plate for smoke retardation.
Lock
conforming to DIN 18250 or DIN 18251
Parts 1, 2 and 3. Where smoke-retardation
is required, a cylinder lock must be used.
Door handles
conforming to DIN 18273
Note: For fire protection doors with
mortar backfilled frame, permanent
elastic sealant is not necessary.
Note: For multi-purpose doors
equipped with smoke-protection, the
wall connections must be sealed all
round with permanent elastic sealant
on at least one side.
Burglar resistance
For burglar resistant doors provide any ad-
ditional anchorings and observe indications
on wall thickness. When installing burglar
resistant doors in porous concrete, corner
and counterframes are always required.
Door seals must be provided with additional
hinge fixation (using a grub screw). These
fixations must be screwed in fully.
Depending on its classification, the door
must be equipped with security plates
conforming to DIN 18257:
– RC1N
= ES1
– RC2 (WK2) = ES1
– RC3 (WK3) = ES2
The profile cylinder must conform to DIN
18252, Class P2 BZ and on the exterior (on
the handle side) must lie flush with the se-
curity plate An pull-out protector integrated
into the profile cylinder is unnecessary if
the pull-out protector is already integrated
into the security plate.
When locking the lock it should be ensured
that the lock bar extends outward in two
steps and penetrates at least 15 mm into
the frame.
For installation of RC2 (WK2) or RC3 (WK3)
burglar resistant doors in porous concrete,
the porous concrete walls must be ad-
hesively bonded versions.
