10.2 Select calibration
10.2.1 General
The actual electrical characteristics of analytical sensors always deviate slightly from the
nominal data. The reason for this is that,
n as with every measuring tool, analysis sensors always have some uncertainty due to
manufacturing tolerance.
n Analysis sensors in operation are exposed to chemical processes. In this way related
deposits and tear lead to changes in the electrical properties of sensors.
To optimise the accuracy of measurements, analysis sensors must be calibrated.
Calibrations are necessary:
n When installing or replacing a sensor
n Cyclically at intervals to be determined by the user
n If implausible readings are displayed
n When process conditions change, for example with system upgrades
For a regular reminder of pending calibrations, the calibration timer can be configured.

Every successfully completed calibration is logged in calibration logbook.
