5 Preparation for use
5.1 Information on fabrication of a prosthesis
CAUTION
Initial use of the prosthesis by the patient
Fall due to lack of patient experience, incorrect alignment or incorrect adjustment of the pros
thesis
►
For the safety of the patient, use a suitable device (e.g. parallel bars, handrail) during initial
standing and walking.
►
Do not use devices with insufficient stability (e.g. crutches or walking sticks).
CAUTION
Incorrect alignment or assembly
Risk of injury due to damaged prosthetic components
►
Observe the alignment and assembly instructions.
NOTICE
Grinding the footshell
Premature wear resulting from damage to the outer footshell
►
Do not damage the outer surface of the footshell when grinding the interior.
Inform the patient.

INFORMATION
The legal warranty covers only product defects of the Chopart footplate. It does not include the
adhesive bonding of the prosthetic socket and the Chopart footplate, which is included in the
prosthetist's area of responsibility. A clean workspace and compliance with all instructions
found in the instructions for use are essential for a stable adhesive bond.
Fabricating a prosthesis that is optimally tailored to the patient demands technical knowledge of
orthopaedic technology. The alignment and adjustments may only be carried out by a prosthetist.
The workflow for fabricating a Chopart prosthesis is described in detail and illustrated with
images in the 1.1.3 Technical Information (646T113*).
