Environmental conditions

• Resistant to many common media used in production such as water,
mineral oil, grease, and detergents. Contact your Rexroth representative
if you have any doubts about resistance to specifi c chemicals, such as
test oil, doped oils, aggressive detergents, solvents, or brake fl uid.
• Avoid long-term contact with acidic or basic reacting materials.
• Wear may increase dramatically if the system is contaminated due to
environmental factors, particularly with abrasive media such as sand and
silicates, but also due to processes running on the transfer system (e.g.
welding beads, pumice dust, glass shards, shavings, or lost parts...). In
such cases, maintenance intervals must be substantially shortened.
• Resistance to media and contamination does not mean that functional
safety is guaranteed in every case.
— Liquids that thicken on evaporation and are highly viscous or
adhesive (sticky) could lead to a disruption in function.
— Media with lubricating properties may reduce the driving power that
is caused by friction if they are carried over onto systems with rollers.
Such cases require special attention when planning the system and
adjusting the maintenance intervals.
