installed; flying debris could cause serious injury.
Always close vacuum bag completely before
operating.
Rotating impeller blades can cause severe injury.
Q
Stop the engine and ensure impeller blades have
stopped rotating before opening the vacuum door or
installing/ changing tubes. Do not put hands or any
other object into the vacuum tubes while they are
installed on the unit.
Never run the unit without the proper equipment
Q
attached. When used as a blower, always install
the blower tubes and close the door. When used
as a vacuum, always install the vacuum tubes
and vacuum bag. Make sure the vacuum bag is
completely zipped when the unit is running to avoid
flying debris. (Note: the unit has an interlock device,
which prevents the tool from starting if all the tubes
are not installed)
Avoid situations that could cause fire in the vacuum
Q
bag. Do not operate near an open flame. Do not
vacuum warm ash from fireplaces, barbecue pits,
brush piles, etc. Do not vacuum discarded cigars or
cigarettes unless the cinders are completely cool.
FUELING
Fuel is highly flammable. Take precautions when
Q
using to reduce the chance of serious personal injury.
Store fuel in a cool, well-ventilated area, safely away
Q
from spark and/or flame-producing equipment.
Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this
Q
purpose.
Only refuel outdoors and do not smoke while
Q
refueling.
Add fuel before starting the engine. Never remove
Q
the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel while the engine
is running or when the engine is hot.
Do not smoke while handling fuel.
Q
Mix and store fuel in a container approved for petrol.
Q
Mix fuel outdoors where there are no sparks or
Q
flames.
Loosen fuel cap slowly to release pressure and to
Q
keep fuel from escaping around the cap.
Tighten the fuel cap securely after refueling.
Q
Wipe spilled fuel from the unit. Move 9m away from
Q
refueling site before starting engine.
Never attempt to burn off spilled fuel under any
Q
circum stances.
To reduce the risk of fire and burn injury, handle fuel
Q
with care. It is highly flammable.
If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine
Q
but move the machine away from the area of spillage
and avoid creating any source of ignition until fuel
vapors have dissipated.
Replace all fuel tank and container caps securely.

This product is very noisy when operating, to prevent
Q
long term hearing damage, wear hearing protection
and keep other persons 15m away from the work
area. Operating similar tools nearby increases risk of
injury.
Use of hearing protection reduces the ability to hear
warnings (shouts or alarms). The operator must pay
extra attention to what is going on in the work area.
It has been reported that vibrations from hand-held
Q
tools may contribute to a condition called Raynaud's
Syndrome in certain individuals. Symptoms may
include tingling, numbness and blanching of the
fingers, usually apparent upon exposure to cold.
Hereditary factors, exposure to cold and dampness,
diet, smoking and work practices are all thought to
contribute to the development of these symptoms.
There are measures that can be taken by the
operatorto possibly reduce the effects of vibration:
a) Keep your body warm in cold weather. When
operating the unit wear gloves to keep the hands
and wrists warm. It is reported that cold weather
is a major factor contributing to Raynaud's
Syndrome.
b) After each period of operation, exercise to
increase blood circulation.
c) Take frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of
exposure per day.
If you experience any of the symptoms of this
condition, immediately discontinue use and see your
doctor about these symptoms.
To reduce the hazard from dust inhalation, slightly
Q
dampen the work area before blowing or vacuuming.
Use a garden rake or a broom to loosen heavy
Q
deposits or fallen leaves or other waste before using
the blower.
When there is a risk of falling objects, wear head
Q
protection.
