Remove the image plate and prepare it for

taking a new X-ray�

10.3 Erasing the image plate
The image data is automatically erased after
scanning�
The special ERASE mode only activates the
erasure unit of the image plate scanner� No im-
age data is read�
In the following cases, the image plate must be
erased with the special mode:
– The first time the image plate is used, or if it is
stored for longer than a week�
– Because of an error, the image data on the
image plate has not been erased (software
error message)�
Select the special ERASE mode in the soft-

ware�
Insert the image plate (see "Scanning the im-
i
age plate")�
10.4 Switch off the unit.
Press the on/off switch

While the unit is shutting down the operating
and communication LEDs flash�
As soon as the unit has shut down it switch-
es off completely� The LEDs go out�
Use of a protective cover
The protective cover protects the unit against
dirt and dust during extended periods in which it
is not used�

Store the protective cover out of the

reach of children�
Pull the protective cover over the unit so that

it is completely covered� Make sure that the
markings are at the front�
Store the protective cover in a safe place

when it is not in use�
