10.2 Scanning the image data
Starting the image plate scanner and soft-
ware
The reading-out process using the Vista-
Soft imaging software is described�
For further information on using the imag-
ing software, refer to the relevant manual�
Press the on/off switch

unit�
Switch on the computer and monitor�

Launch VistaSoft�
i
Select the patient�
i
Select the corresponding acquisition type in
i
the menu bar�
Select the device�
i
Set acquisition mode�
i
Recording starts directly�
Result:
The status LED illuminates green�
Scanning the image plate
In order not to mix up X-ray exposures,
only scan X-ray images from the selected
patient�
Place the light protection cover with the image
i
plate centrally and straight onto the input unit�

faces down, the inactive side of the image
plate faces the operator�
The fixing mechanism moves forwards auto-
matically and takes hold of the light protec-
tion cover with image plate�
Slide the image plate out of its light protection

cover downwards into the unit until the image
plate is automatically drawn in�
The light protection cover is held in place by
the fixing mechanism and is not transported
into the unit�
The image data is automatically transmitted
to the imaging software� The progress of the
scanning process is displayed in the preview
window on the monitor�
After it has been scanned, the image plate is
erased and drops into the collection tray�
While the yellow status LED is lit up:

Do not remove the light protection cover, and
do not insert a new image plate�
When the green and yellow status LEDs light
i
up:
Remove the empty light protection cover�
When the green status LED lights up:

Save the X-ray image�
Remove the empty light protection cover�
