PACLITAXEL ELUTING CORONARY BALLOON DILATATION CATHETER
- Withdraw the catheter until it reaches the opening in the guiding catheter lumen (about 25cm from
the end of the balloon). Carefully withdraw the distal portion of the balloon catheter, keeping the
guide wire in place in the lesion. Close the haemostatic valve.
- Prepare the new balloon catheter to be used as described above.
- Fit the new balloon on the guide wire. Make sure the proximal portion of the guide wire exits
through the balloon catheter guide insertion port to about 25cm from the distal end of the balloon.
- Open the haemostatic valve and advance the balloon while keeping the guide wire in the same
position in the coronary artery. Care must be taken not to bend or twist the balloon catheter around
the guide wire.
- Advance the balloon catheter to the end of the guide catheter. Continue with PCTA using the method
described above.

broken, tampered with or damaged.
