TECHNICAL DATA
Maximum cable length
Maximum distance between
brackets
Maximum number of users
The safety distance between the users must not be less than 3 m (10 ft).
The Vi-Go system must be used in accordance with the standards and regulations where the system is
installed, and according to the following compatibility table.

*Only with 10 mm (3/8 in) galvanized steel cables and components
**Only with 10 mm (3/8 in) stainless steel cables and components
Operating temperature: –40 °C to +70 °C (-40 °F to +158 °F); ensure that the system is free of
greases, oils, and ice.
 2. 1 PRINCIPLE SKETCH OF THE SÖLL VI-GO VERTICAL ARREST SYSTEM ( FIG. 1 )
The Vi-Go system is made of the following components:
• Top bracket (Fig. 1, Pos. 1)
• Steel cable (Fig. 1, Pos. 2)
• Cable tensioner (Fig. 1, Pos. 3)
• Intermediate bracket (Fig. 1, Pos. 4)
• Guided type fall arrester (Fig. 1, Pos. 5)
Each component is available in multiple variants that must be selected by the installer according to the
type of substructure, corrosion requirements, rung size and user requirements.
 2. 2 SUBSTRUCTURE
Before installation, check whether the component on which the Vi-Go system is to be fixed can withstand
the loads resulting from a fall (stability certificate). A qualified engineer must certify this. The following
characteristic loads resulting from the dynamic loads due to a fall, user loads, and dead-weights of
system components serve as the basis for the stability certificate.
Personal fall arrest systems shall not be attached to guardrail systems, nor shall they be attached to
hoists except as specified in other subparts of this part.
For fastening the upper end of the cable; loads working vertically downwards:
Number of simultaneous users
Characteristic vertical load F
Characteristic vertical load with
safety factor k=1.5
For fastening the intermediate bracket and the lower end of the cable, independent of the number of
users, effective in each direction:
F
= 1,5 kN / 337 lbf.
c2
Important!
The cable end attachments must always be fastened on sufficiently dimensioned substructures.
200 m (696 ft)
We recommend a maximum fixing span of 10 m (33 ft) for EN and 12 m
(40 ft) for ANSI compliance. For more information, see 3.1.1 The maximum
distance of intermediate brackets.
4 or less, depending on the load-bearing capacity of the substructure.
