X. VENT AND BATTERY TRAY
(FIGURES A & B)
Read the User's Manual before installing the vent and battery tray components
onto the wheelchair.
Never use this wheelchair as a seat in a motor vehicle unless all components are
removed from the vent and battery trays, and properly secured separately in the
vehicle.
Always contact Technical Service before installing or removing the vent and bat-
tery tray components to obtain the correct assembly locations of the strut tubes,
roller carriage assembly and caster brackets.
Do not install the vent and battery tray components onto wheelchairs when the
user weighs more than 250 lbs.
NOTE –
This option is only compatible with wheelchairs having a minimum floor-to-seat height of 17".
NOTE –
The (2) strut tubes supplied with the vent and battery tray kit create one unique wheelchair
width. Please contact Sunrise Medical to acquire strut tubes for other wheelchair widths.
NOTE –
The vent and battery tray components are not compatible with the Attendant Wheel Lock
option.
A. HOW TO MAKE WHEELCHAIR WIDTH ADJUSTMENTS
NOTE –
The (2) strut tubes supplied with the vent and battery tray kit create one unique wheelchair
width. Please contact Sunrise Medical to acquire strut tubes for other unique wheelchair widths.
1. Loosen and remove the bolts (A) from both ends of the two vent and battery tray
strut tubes (F).
2. Loosen bolts from both ends the front strut tube.
3. Loosen and remove all four bolts (B) from the two tube extensions (C).
4. Remove the vent and battery tray.
5. Adjust the width of the chair.
6. Loosen and remove nuts and bolts (D) from the vent tray mounting brackets (E) on
both strut tubes (F).
7. Replace the vent and battery tray strut tubes with the required size to match the
desired width of the chair.
8. Insert the strut tubes (F) back into the vent and battery tray mounting brackets (E).
9. Put the vent and battery tray back in place, replace and tighten bolts (A) from both
ends of the vent and battery tray strut tubes (F).
NOTE –
Use a torque setting of 350 in.-lbs.
10. Replace and tighten all four bolts (B) to secure the mounting brackets (E) on the
vent and battery tray extension tubes (C).
