The bus coupler is designed only for use as a participant
in an EtherCat bus segment.
A switch is not required to set the EtherCAT address.
The bus coupler supports automatic address assignment
of the EtherCAT address.
The transfer rate is 100 Mbit/s full duplex.
The supply voltages for the logic and valve control are
monitored. If the valve supply voltages fall below a set
limit, a diagnostic signal will be generated and reported
via the diagnostic LED and the diagnostic information.
The bus coupler is equipped with 32 valve outputs. This
limits the maximum number of controllable valve
solenoids.
Either 16 double or 32 single solenoid valves can be
controlled in this manner. The valves can also be
combined.
All EtherCAT standards and guidelines can be found in the
EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) specifications.
The bus coupler supports EtherCAT release 2.2.0.0.
Use of switches or routers in an EtherCAT network is
permissible. EtherCAT supports broadcast, multicast and
cross communication between slaves. UDP/IP datagrams
are also possible.
The bus coupler has two Ethernet Twisted Pair
connections in accordance with 802.3u.
The device is certified in accordance with the ETG
specifications.
