Marking for the base plates (GP/FGP) for single solenoid valves
Base plates are available in two versions:
W
For single solenoid valves: Only single solenoid valves can be assembled.
W
For double solenoid valves: Single or double solenoid valves can be assembled. If a single
solenoid valve is mounted, only solenoid 14 can be used.
Base plates for single solenoid valves are specially marked to prevent double solenoid valves
from being assembled on a base plate for single solenoid valves.
Base plates (GP/FGP) for double solenoid valves do not have any marking.
Valves
The valves direct the air to the pneumatic drive units. The connection is made via the valve's base
plate.
W
2x3/2-way valves (2 independent valves in one housing)
W
5/2 and 5/3-way valves

LED (yellow): An illuminated LED indicates that the assigned valve coil is energized. In valves
with two solenoids, the solenoids are correspondingly labeled "12" and "14".

Assembly

Assembly options

The following options exist for mounting the VS:
W
Assembly on a flate surface
W
Assembly on a DIN rail (not for HF02-LG)
Assembling the VS on a flat surface
O
Assemble the VS on a flat surface with two or three screws.
O
Note the dimensions of the VS.
Exceeding the number of base plates
With more than 12 base plates on the HF04-XF or more than 16 base plates on the HF03-LG,
damage can occur if the VS is subject to oscillations and vibrations during operation.
O
To stabilize the HF04-XF, mount an additional square nut M5 DIN 562 with a
corresponding M5 mounting screw from below on a function base plate at the center of
the VS. The VS needs to be disassembled for this step. The recess for inserting the square
nut and the hole for the mounting screw is located on the bottom side of the function base
plate.
O
Add additional mounting brackets on the HF03-LG on a base plate at the center of the VS.
The VS does not need to be disassembled to do this.
Observe the assembly instructions included with the accessories kit (R 412 008 245).
Assembling the VS on a DIN rail (not for HF02-LG)
The valve system can be mounted on a DIN rail (EN 50022, 35 x 15).
You need a mounting kit (R412008296) to assemble the VS on a DIN rail.
Always observe the following points:
O
Always follow the instructions included with the mounting kit when installing the system.
O
Mount the valve system in such a manner that it is not released from the DIN rail if the clamps
are loosened.
O
Ensure that enough free space is left for the electrical and pneumatic connections so that the
permissible minimum bending radii for the cables and tubes are adhered to.
O
With more than 12 function base plates on the HF04-XF or more than 16 base plates on the
HF03-LG, do not assemble the VS on a DIN rail, because the mounting can become unstable
due to vibrations occurring during operation.
O
Select a type of fastening that corresponds to the load (vibrating or oscillating load).

Connecting the pneumatics

Overpressure caused by closed exhaust outlets
Closed exhaust outlets will lead to air congestion and valve damage.
O
Never close connection R.
O
Ensure that channels 3, 5, and R provide sufficient exhaust.
General information
O
Provide exhaust air connections, which are not connected to an exhaust air line, with a
silencer.
O
Provide unused connections with blanking plugs.
O
For push-in fittings, only use plug accessories made of plastic (polyamide) from the online
catalog.
O
Ensure that enough free space is left for the pneumatic hoses so that the permitted minimum
bending radii are adhered to.
