TONER
This menu item displays the amount of toner remaining in the imaging
cartridge. You should check this item whenever print quality
deteriorates. If toner is low, prepare a new imaging cartridge for
replacement.
After you install a new imaging cartridge, you should reset the toner
setting as described in Chapter 6 of this manual. This tells the printer
that a new imaging cartridge has been installed.
If you install a used imaging cartridge, you can specify the
approximate amount of toner remaining. To do this, first display the
TONER main menu item and then press r to move to the submenu.

Use u and d to select the toner amount setting you want to set, and
then press r to set it. If your used imaging cartridge has about 50% of
its toner remaining, for example, select E*** F.
