LUBRICATION

Read the safety instructions
Before starting the engine for the first time lubricate
all points . For recommended lubricants see page 10.
ENGINE
Daily (every 8 working hours)
Check level of oil in sump.
Remove dipstick (B Fig.27) and check that the oil is
up to the correct level indicated. If necessary top up
with fresh oil through the filler (A Fig.27) on top of the
rocker box.
NOTE: Ensure the machine is on level ground
when checking the oil level.
After first 50 working hours
Change engine oil.
(a)
After first warming up the engine remove the
drain plug (A Fig.28) and drain all the oil from
the crankcase sump.
(b)
Clean plug and replace.
(c)
Remove the filler cap (A Fig.27) and refill with
fresh oil up to the maximum level on the
dipstick (B Fig.27). Capacity 9.5 litres (16.72
Imp.pints) (20.08 US pints)
(d)
Replace filler cap securely.
Every 100 working hours
Change engine oil, as quoted under first 50 working
hours.
Every 200 working hours
Change oil filter cartridge
(a)
Remove cartridge (A Fig.29) from engine by
unscrewing and discard.
(b)
Clean area on crankcase.
(c)
Apply a thin film of oil to the gasket and screw
in
the new cartridge by hand, securely.DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN.
(d)
After replacing the new cartridge the engine oil
level will drop, run the engine for a short period
and after ensuring that no leaks appear, top up
with fresh oil to the level indicated on the
dipstick.
MACHINE
Daily (Every 8 working hours)
Hydraulic Fluid: Check level of hydraulic oil in the
tank. The level of oil should be maintained according
to the mark indicated on the sightglass (A Fig.30).
Top up if necessary with Shell Tellus 46 to correct
level. Access to the hydraulic oil filler cap is gained
by opening the right hand engine cover.
