INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
WARNING:
Observe lines closely during the transfer. Always use good line management
techniques. Failure to do so could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment
damage.
3.
Observe lines closely as you transfer the patient per facility protocols.
3.2.14
Access the Cervical Traction Assembly
The cervical traction release control is a push button on the upper-left side of the head-
end column.
1.
Push the cervical traction release button. The assembly
moves out from the column.
2.
Pull the assembly out from the column, and make sure the
assembly is in the locked-out position. The cervical
traction release button will return to its original position.
WARNING:
The maximum diameter of the traction rope should be 0.25" (6.35 mm). The use of
a traction rope that is greater than 0.25" (6.35 mm) in diameter could cause
binding inside the cervical traction assembly. Patient injury could occur as a result
of inaccurate traction.
3.
Put the traction rope through the hole in the center of the
bowtie. The rope will go through the traction assembly
and out the left side of the column, near the release.
4.
Put the traction rope over and around the pulley.
