AUTO-DARKENING WELDING FILTER AND PROTECTION
LENS ASSEMBLY
1. Slide in the inner protection lens on the inner side of the auto-darkening welding filter
as shown in figure (1.).
2. Gently fold the printed circuit board of the external control behind the filter so that it is
positioned inside the helmet shell before you insert the filter into the opening. To insert
the filter, begin by inserting it at the bottom so that it clicks in the bottom clip (2.a); then
push in the top part so that it clicks into the top clip (2.b).
3. Insert the external protection lens into its position with four side holders. Hold the
protection lens with your thumb and middle finger and place it on the side of your
thumb into the slots of both side holders. The indent of the helmet shell provides the
necessary space for your thumb (3.a). With your middle finger bend the protection lens
and with the aid of the other fingers place it in both side slots (3.b).
4. Close the helmet shell with the external frame. Insert the bottom two pins in the lowest
two openings of the helmet shell and push the top part of the frame into the helmet
shell so that the two upper pins click in the pin openings on both sides (2x click) (4.).
5. Insert the middle part of the external control housing in its opening on the exterior side
of the helmet shell (5.).
6. Insert the electronic circuit board with potentiometers into the middle part of the
external control housing (6.).
7. While pressing the electronic board, insert the 4 knobs to the potentiometers from the
outside. Take care that the knobs are inserted correctly. Check that the final position of
the marks on the knob correspond to the printing on the external controls housing (7.).
8. Insert the external part of the external control housing so that it fits over the middle
part of the external control housing (8.).
9. Place the internal part of the external control housing correctly on to the middle part of
the external control housing and fix it with four screws (9.).

In case an auto-darkening filter needs to be removed from the bearing (e.g.
due to the changing of the inner protection foil), first release the loop on the
connecting electrical cable, as shown in figure 10, and remove the filter. When
inserting the filter back into the bearing, place the cable and the loop as shown
in figure 11.a (WH70 BH3
