LABORATORY MILL CD 1
1.1 Assembling the apparatus
The machine is generally delivered assembled and ready to use.
In certain instances, the two feed hoppers may be dismantled due
to problems of handling bulk during transport.
Carefully remove the two distributor protection shields and mount
the two feed hoppers (the one with the magnetic dumper goes on
the right or break side: the other on the left side).
If possible, set mill on a sturdy flat-top table (machine weighs
approximately 100 kg) measuring 1.20 m by 0.50 m. The height of
the table may vary according to the height of the operator. We
recommend an average table height of 0.70 m.
The table must be placed in the laboratory in such a way so as to
allow the operator to freely move around the mill.
1.2 Electrical connection
❏ The 2 0.5 HP motors and the 2 micro-motor reducers are con-
nected at the back of the machine :
- 3 wires and 1 ground for three-phase 230/400 V AC for power sup-
ply to the motor. Break roll 0.75 CV - Reduction roll: 0.5 CV.
- 2 wires + 1 ground terminal for the 220 V single phase micro-reduc-
tion motor supply.
Unless otherwise specified by the customer, the three-phase
motors are connected to 400 Vac.
Once connected, check to see that the 0.5 HP motors are turning in
the correct direction: two arrows on each end of the sieves (end
plates removed) indicate the correct rotary direction. When the
motor on the break roll side is turning in the correct direction, then
the reduction roll side motor will also rotate correctly and vice-versa.
❏ In order to connect the CD1 to three-phase 230 V, see
